Singapore Arrival Customs Tax and Duties


TAX RELIEF

A 7% Goods and Services Tax (GST) is levied on all goods imported into Singapore. If you are a visitor, tourist, returning citizen or permanent resident of Singapore, you will be granted Tax relief for all new purchases (excludes liquor and tobacco) under these conditions :
PERIOD AWAY FROM SINGAPOREGST RELIEF
Away for 48 hours or more$600
Away for less than 48 hours$150
Updated as of 1 Apr 2012.
GST is levied on goods purchased exceeding the above values. Tax relief will not be offered to work-permit, employment, student, dependent or long-term pass holders.


DUTY FREE CONCESSIONS

Enjoy Duty Free Concession if you
  • are at least 18 years old and above;
  • have arrived from countries other than Malaysia, and
  • have been away from Singapore for at least 48 hours.
